Using MSS MIDIPortConnectSource in real time

  • Subject: Using MSS MIDIPortConnectSource in real time

I have been trying to use MIDIPortConnectSource in real time to connect to the coming and going of certain USB MIDI devices and occasionally I get this error in the debug log:

2007-07-05 15:37:33.041 Metro[17029] CFLog (0): CFMessagePort: bootstrap_register(): failed 1103 (0x44f), port = 0x580b, name = 'Apple MIDI Client 17029'
See /usr/include/servers/bootstrap_defs.h for the error codes.
2007-07-05 15:37:33.042 Metro[17029] CFLog (99): CFMessagePortCreateLocal(): failed to name Mach port (Apple MIDI Client 17029)

After I get this error any call to MIDIPortConnectSource or MIDIPortDisconnectSource produces a -50 parameter error. What is going on here?

Any help greatly appreciated!
