what exactly is dvca?

Hello all,

I'm trying to playback DV stream audio in core audio.  I've found mention of the 'dvca' decoder in coreaudio, but I can't find any description of what this format actually is.  Is it the whole video+audio stream?

My question is... do I have to preprocess the dv stream prior to decoding with the 'dvca' component?
