Just a thought, but does your custom class support the initWithCoder: and encodeWithCoder: methods? I suspect this is what WriteToFile will be looking for and failing if it can't find them.

(Best check the Cocoa documentation - these may not be the only two methods you need, I think you may need copyWithZone: as well.....)
