HRTF Spatialization in Core Audio

Hello,

I am extremely interested in the manner in which Core Audio spatializes sound using an HRTF, as I currently use a rather expensive custom box to do simple spatializations.

Does anybody know WHICH HRTF is used by Core Audio? Can you change it, and say substitute one from the CIPIC or IRCAM HRTF libraries? Can anybody recommend a resource with more information?
