forcing external clock

Hi,

Is there a way to force(such as a parameter setting in a .plist) or via a cron job, a G5 to always look for external clock on its optical inputs, so that it does not automatically revert to internal clock when the external clock disappears, requiring the master machine to always boot first in a multi-computer setup?

Thanks,

Joel Braverman
