Java Options for MIDI

Core Audio API,

Apple has made some big changes with its media API's in the recent past. In considering these API's for cross platform Java development I have several questions and concerns.

Core Audio is still an OS X only solution, right? Or, does Quicktime 7 support all of Core Audio's MIDI functionality?

If so, is it now possible for developers to create OS X and Windows MIDI applications with one Java code base?

If Quicktime now allows for this what libraries must a Windows user have installed to run a Quicktime/Core Audio MIDI application? How do they get Quicktime?

Best Regards,

Thomas Buhr
