When you add a device to an aggregate, you have to add all the streams. There is no support for just adding some of the streams.

I am trying to create an aggregate device using the core audio APIs. I am using a device that supports multiple audio streams. I want to assign just some of those streams to the aggregate.

Can this be done? What APIs do I use? Is there an example of this somewhere that I've missed?
