iTunes sending the current filename to another program....

1. Is it possible for me to make a plugin for iTunes that would launch my program, with the name of the currently selected file in iTunes passed to my program?

So if the currently selected file in iTunes was Sunshine.mp3, and the user chose my plugin inside iTunes, it would launch my program, with the filename Sunshine.mp3 passed to my program (with a similar effect to the user dropping the file onto my app icon).

(so far, in reading the iTunes plugin specs, all I can find is info for making visualization plugins)

2. Similar question. If a user drags a file out of iTunes onto my app's icon (or into my program main window), am I notified of that by an event that includes the filename?

Peter
