Is it possible to for my program to decompress .WMA files on the Mac?

If you (and your customer) installs the free (at least used to be free) Flip4Mac QuickTime component then QuickTime can decompress unprotected WMA files

I asked about this on an MS forum, and MS directed me to a 3rd party app
that does it, which is not what I want, because not all of my customers have
this 3rd party app.

So, does anyone know....

1. is WMA decompression built in to Quicktime FileConvert etc?
2. Does MS license the WMA codec to Mac developers to decompress WMA files
on the Mac?
3. Is there another solution?

Peter
