Audio bits from CD

Hi,

I was able to verify an audio CD, what I want to do now is calculate the RMS value of the whole CD (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Root_mean_square), I'd like to know how I can just extract only the audio samples from a CD, which will be from different .aiff files. Does anyone maybe have some more info on how to do this?

Robin
