Many thanks, Bob! I suspected that. I need to output (and input)
bit-perfect, sample rate-controllable, low latency audio. I'm not sure Java
Sound allows for this kind of control.

I will be porting a number of advanced tools for assessing quality of
audio devices and of DSP algorithms from Windows to OSX. The tools are
written in Java and on Windows platform they use in-house developed JNI
interface to ASIO. I plan to replace ASIO by Core Audio on OSX platform.
