I started this thread since I encountered some stange header in AIFF
file. At this time, I was trying to parse it to extract data and
finally compute main frequency of the sound sample (using FFT). Thanks
to this list and its very active users, I did it.
I'm glad to hear you achieved your goal!
Concerning ExtAudioFile and miniAiff, none of them can run on iPhone
(the platform I'm targeting).
They do now. At least, miniAIFF does.
And I think that ExtAudioFile
documentation is lacking some concrete examples, comparing to
CoreAudio's one (it's my opinion).
As a matter of fact, many of the CoreAudio APIs could use some
examples, too (CAClock anyone?). Please don't get me wrong - other
than that I honestly like the CoreAudio framework and I can't praise
Apple enough for the good work that they did! I'm sure we will see
more exciting stuff further down the road and we were able to create
great products with what is already there, so please keep up the good
work...!
Best wishes,
Stephan
