Application Level Mute

Hi,

I'm working on an application and I would like to mute the sound, but only for my application (i.e. only at the application level, not at the system level). The problem is that my application isn't actually playing the sound itself; there is a webview which displays flash content (and I don't have access to change the flash content).

Is there some way to mute either the entire application, the webview, or the flash content? I figure that there is some way to do this with Core Audio, but I haven't been able to find anything. (I'm also open to using other ideas for muting the sound).
