Yep :)  It's good to know for sure, though.

No worries.  The good news is that with these extra pauses in place, it
seems to be working pretty reliably.

I've written up an edit of the code I'm using, together with an overview of
the current "known issues", to help anyone else who wants to create an
aggregate device programmatically:
