Hi All,
I have a need to play back an audio stream at a playback rate other
than 1.0, alongside its associated video which is also being played
back at the same rate (not 1.0). The rates of playback vary, but are
known in advance - the transitions between different rates of playback
will be defined by some sort of curve, to be smooth.
So my question is pretty basic actually - what kind of transformation
on the audio data would satisfy this requirement? I'm just beginning
to learn the concepts and terminology of audio and DSP itself, so this
is rather new to me. I've begun to read a little about DSP and
wonder if decimation / interpolation are the correct DSP terms to
describe what I'm trying to achieve.
So far, I'm under the impression that I probably want a 'Varispeed'
unit, but I'm not entirely sure - any help would be greatly
appreciated - esp if you have a link or two to throw my way so that I
can learn what kind of processing is required to make this work.
Thanks
