Sound is coming out metallic

Hello,

 

I’m using the HAL directly via IOProcs and an AudioConverter.  Is there any reason why my audio seems to output slower than what I’m capturing via the Microphone?  It also sounds metallic.  Am I not capturing fast enough? Or Am I losing parts of the audio that makes it sound metallic?
