Max/MSP does not come standard with an AU host object. I'm not positive, but I believe that the AU external doesn't draw any sort of interface, so you can use the AU but you have to change params via max messages.

I know for a fact that Live 7 doesn't support Cocoa AUs (yet). Someone
from Ableton confirmed this in response to my inquiry here a few days
ago. I believe neither does DP, not sure about Max/MSP.

Seems like though the Ableton products are usually cutting edge they
are a bit behind on this one :-( Btw. I found this little
compatibility list here relating to a Cocoa AU:

Since it is a commercial developer and the entry was added two days
ago I assume it's up to date.

hi, some time ago someone posted a table that amongst other things
detailed which hosts support Cocoa views:

http://lists.apple.com/archives/coreaudio-api/2006/Jun/msg00028.html

anyone know if this table is still valid particularly regarding Cocoa
support and particularly for Digital Performer and Max/Msp and Live.

happy new year,
Stephen
