I have long considered the potential to bus around the equivalent of
"control voltage" signals, just as flexibly as if they were audio.
If parameter event streams were added to the buses that AUs see, then
we could build modular synthesis graphs as easily as audio processing
graphs. This idea is a bit contrary to AudioUnits, since the user
might want a different graph for modulation control signals as
compared to the audio routing, but if the parameter event streams
were added, it would go a long way towards this possibility.
