Andre, et al.,

I/We use AU Lab very regularly, to test our products, or generally fiddle around with other products, interfaces, etc. Aside from a quirk here or there, it is indeed a valuable tool in our arsenal.

Andre,

We encourage you to file bugs using the bug reporter tool (bugreporter.apple.com) against au lab for any problems you encounter. We will do our best to fix them in a timely manner.
Regarding your specific issue, we believe it to be a problem with the way NI plugins load their presets, but we have not yet fixed the problem. Hopefully, we will be able to provide a fix with the next version of the developer tools.

Hi everyone,

I'm not quite sure whether this is the right list to post this, so please let me know if I am off topic.

Is anyone using AU Lab (included with developer tools) on a regular basis and with success? I found the tool is a very nice minimal host for testing, if it only was a bit more robust. I am experiencing trouble with loading saved setups (especially with NI synths). The crash looks to me as if there is a problem with initializing the unit (system log reads: AU Lab[424]: Error reading session from file: -10851).

I was hoping to find AU Lab among the XCode example projects, but AFAIK, the source code is not avaialble. I would really love to fix the issue ;-)

My question is if it's worth trying to get around the bugs and issues, or whether AU Lab generally is considered a major hassle and I should stay away anyway.

Thanks.
Andre
