If you go to QT Player's Info box on the sound track - what does it
say for the "role" of each channel - you should be able to assign
these so that QT will play the 4 channels correctly

Hi there,
This is not trully related to the Core audio API.
I am sorry to spam the list. My question is quite urgent, and I
think that
very likely you may have a simple answer, based on your experience...
Here we go !
I here have a Presonus Firebox, with 6 output channels, on a
Macintosh,
mac os X.5.
I need to read 4-track AIFF files on this macintosh.
When reading such a 4-track file from my app, using portaudio and core
audio, everything is fine : I open 4 channels, and send each track
on a
channel.
But I'd also need to read these 4-track files from a simpler audio
player... And I did not find any so far.
-> the Mac OS X player plays them as a mono file : all the 4 acks
are sent
to the left/right channels
-> QuickTime (latest release) plays them as a mono file :all the 4
tracks
are sent to the left/right channels
-> VLC (the acrobat!) only read left and right channels
I've tried all the available configuration options for this sound
board.
No success !
How can I play my 4-track files through 4 channels of the Presonus
Firebox ?
Do you know a simple player that could help me do that ?
Sorry again for the spamming,
and thanks much for you help,
Nicolas
