Hi Peter
I can't quite recall the problem we had with 64bit now - I know that
both AUBufferList and CBufferList are both fine for 64 bit, so
either should be ok

Bill,
Thanks for that tip, I was unaware. I'm assuming that the issue is
with offsetof as the method in CABufferList is similar to the first
method I described. My concern here is that I think I actually
learned the offsetof method by looking at some of the CA
PublicUtility code when I was picking up C and CoreAudio at the
same time. When I search through the code I see the same method
being used; AUOutputBL.cpp:70 does it the same way I did, for
example.
I'm not trying to validate my original response so much as I am
trying to gain an understanding.
Thanks,
Peter

CABufferList in PublicUtility has a method to do this - you have
to be careful about doing this in a way that is compatible with
64bit
