Automation editor parameter display type

Hello,

I was expecting automation editors to use the parameter display type (eg kAudioUnitParameterFlag_DisplayExponential) to provide more appropriate drawing facilities on a per parameter basis rather than assume a linear scale. It seems this isn't so, in Logic at least. Is that a correct assumption? Anyone know any other hosts that take this into account? It is easier for me if they don't as I do all my parameter mapping in the custom view and don't care much for a generic view.
