Convert MP3 data to PCM in iPhone sdk

Hello Group,
I am trying to convert a mp3 file into PCM data in iPhone. But when i set the client format using ExtAudioFileSetProperty. I am getting an error with status code 1885696621. Can any body please tell me why it is happening. The same thing works fine when i read WAV or AIFF file. As i know iPhone supports Decoder for MP3 format. I serached previous posts also but couldn't find any solution.
The same code works fine for MAC OS.
