audiounithosting, audio file formats

HI,

I am using the CoreAudio SDK version 1.4.3.
Is there an update to the audiounithosting.xcodeproj file? On my system it won't build (OS 10.5.6).

Also, there are several sample code projects close to the area I need to work for my application but only some can handle all file formats.
I need to be able to play back apple lossless files with the extension m4a,or at least mp3 files. How can projects like the Mixmash or matrixmixer be modified to add this functionality. Multiple file playback (simultaneous) with reasonable sync control are also necessary.

thanks

rob
