Followup question. My particular needs are that I play a compressed
file while using RemoeIO to do low level monitoring/processing of the
mic input. Is it possible to use AQS to play the file while using
RemoteIO to monitor the mic? I'm not entirely sure how to set up the
AudioSession in this situation.
Thanks
Nate

The example I linked seems to play LinearPCM just fine using
RemoteIO. Is it possible to play AAC compressed files using
RemoteIO? Or do I have to use AudioQueueServices for that?

Thanks Mark. In my searching since the post I also found this nice
sample project

Hopefully someone else will find it useful as well.

I've found examples that record audio using RemoteIO on the
iPhone, but
haven't seen any that explain how to play a compressed file using
RemoteIO. Are there any examples floating around on how to do
this? I
apologize if this has been discussed before, the search
functionality
for Apple mailing lists is spotty (searching for iPhone returned
no
results).
The Apple search page sucks. Try a google site search, i.e. in the
google type:
remoteio site:lists.apple.com/archives
I posted something a while back that should help you.
