Hi Markus,
I'm sorry but I don't quite understand. The users external device is
working properly, it is playing MIDI through the internal speakers
that isn't working. Are you saying that his Roland driver is causing
this?

Hi,
CoreMIDI supports 32 bit drivers, it does so by relaunching the MIDI
server in 32 bit mode. In your case you have a Roland MIDI driver
installed, which is not a 64 bit driver. You can remove that driver,
if you configure your Roland keyboard to be a USB MIDI compliant
device (read the manual for that, it is not obvious, but possible)

Hello,
My midi player application, Rondo, is apparently not working
properly on 10.6. A new user has just reported that it refuses to
play any sound out through the internal speakers of his brand new
MacBook Pro. Sound through his external keyboard plays fine. He
says the following console message appears on start up:
8/27/09 2:45:47 AM MIDIServer[542] MIDIServer [542] starting;
arch=x86_64
8/27/09 2:45:47 AM MIDIServer[542] PlugIn RDUSB0005Midi.plugin -- /
Library/Audio/MIDI Drivers/ does not contain a supported
architecture.
8/27/09 2:45:47 AM MIDIServer[542] MIDIServer relaunching because a
32-bit driver was found
8/27/09 2:45:47 AM MIDIServer[542] MIDIServer [542] starting;
arch=i386
however, this looks to my uneducated eye more like his external
device driver is reconfiguring itself to run in 32 bit mode.
I don't have 10.6 yet - will buy it in the next few days - however
does anyone know what may be going on? Just as importantly can I
suggest some way this user may find out if my app is having
problems with some 64 bit vs 32 bit incompatibility and what he may
be able to do about it?
Am I due for a bunch of support problems :-(
