Hello list,
I have searched the archives as well as I can, but haven't found any
solid info on this subject since a promise that a solution was "coming
soon" back in 2003.
I make hardware synthesizers, and I'm working with a software developer
who makes plug-in editing surfaces for controlling your hardware synths
within your DAW.
This is relatively easy in the PC/VST format, and apparently a
Universal Binary version is no problem... but according to this
developer, Logic compatibility is out of the question because Audio
Units can't pass MIDI directly out to a hardware MIDI interface (or MIDI
in from same to the Audio Unit). Is this still true? Are there any
standard solutions to this problem? It looks like Logic support is a a
necessity, so any current info on how one can pass MIDI to/from a plugin
within Logic would be super helpful.
Thanks in advance!
