Thanks Michael! I'll try this out in the next few days.

Hi Sean,
The OTHER_REZFLAGS setting fixed it for me.
Here's what I had previously:
OTHER_REZFLAGS = -I /System/Library/Frameworks/
CoreServices.framework/Frameworks/CarbonCore.framework/Versions/A/
Headers -I /Developer/Examples/CoreAudio/AudioUnits/AUPublic/AUBase -
D TARGET_REZ_MAC_PPC=1
The value that Arne wrote fixed it.

Hi Sean,
There has been some good discussion on the VSTGUI mailing list. It
is narrowing down to focus on xcode project settings and resource
generation that could be causing problems. Here's the latest
suggestions which I have yet to test, but will report on when I get
a chance.

Hi:
I've had similar issues compiling Drawtest. It compiles in Intel
Mac Leopard, but is not recognized by any of my hosts.
I have migrated some of my development to Juce, but would like to
try VSTGUI for a less-pricey solution. So, I will subscribe to the
VSTGUI mailing list, but I would love to see any AU related
discussion stay on this list as well.
Thanks,

Hi David,
In order to continue a cohesive discussion here too:
Here are some auval results being run on Intel Mac Leopard:
$auval -a
no listing for "aufx vgdt Xxxx - VSTGUI: DrawTest"
$auval -v aufx vgdt Xxxx
--------------------------------------------------
VALIDATING AUDIO UNIT: 'aufx' - 'vgdt' - 'Xxxx'
--------------------------------------------------
ERROR: Cannot get Component's Name strings
ERROR: Cannot get Component's Info strings
ERROR: Error from retrieving Component Version for resource: -3000
* * FAIL
--------------------------------------------------
TESTING OPEN TIMES:
FATAL ERROR: didn't find the component
This result is basically the same as there being no component at
all.
Again, the PPC Tiger system builds, validates and works properly
in both Logic/AU and Cubase/VST.
Thanks!

Michael,
I saw your post on [vstgui-devel] and answered as much as I
could over there.
However I didn't note that what you had is working on PPC but
not on Intel. This makes me think that your resources are set up
incorrectly - if you run auval from the terminal, do you get the
-50 error on Intel but a complete response on PPC?

Subject: Drawtest VSTGUI/AU example
Hello,
Has anyone gotten the drawtest example project in VSTGUI to work
on
Mac Intel Leopard OS? Or for that matter, gotten any simple
project
working using a VSTGUI 3.6 view within an Audio Unit? I'm having
trouble getting either the Audio Unit build or the VST build of
drawtest to show up in their respective hosts (auval/Logic 8,
Cubase
5) on MacIntel Leopard. The AU and VST build and work fine on
my PPC
mac running Tiger. Eventually, I'm hoping to have a UI that is
cross
platform across Mac/PC and AU/VST/RTAS which will be Cocoa
capable.
Thanks!
Michael
