Logic not sending MIDI to effect

Hi folks.
My plug-in uses AUMIDIEffectBase and I've got methods for StartNote, StopNote, HandleMidiEvents, HandleNoteOn/Off. But none of them are called in Logic 8.

They DID work before I upgraded to the latest XCode / Snow Leopard. And I could happily control the effect with MIDI.
My other AU that uses MusicDeviceBase works fine with the upgrade.

Are there extra switches or initiations I need to get AUMIDIEffectBase to work again?

Thanks,
Dave
