I just checked with an FCP person and for an audio unit to show up in
FCP it must support mono-mono operation.. So, AUMatrixReverb wouldn't
show up for instance, because it doesn't support mono output

Thank you for your reply. The AU is based on the "AudioUnit effect
with Cocoa view" template and has both a Cocoa and a Carbon view for
compatibility with older hosts. Auval checks out ok, and Logic and
GarageBand both load the plug in without a problem.
I have also noted that some other AUs seem to have problems with FCE,
such as the free NorthPole filter which also doesn't show up in FCE:

Any idea why?

I'm not sure what you mean by Cocoa AU - have you written the audio
unit
using Cocoa? or just the view?

Hi all,
ok so I have my Cocoa AU running in almost every program except for
the fact that it doesn't show up as audio filter in FCE 4.0.1. Is
there a trick to getting FCE to recognize my plug in or am I
attempting the impossible? There seem to be some AUs that get
listed,
but not mine :-(
Thanks for any feedback,
