DLSMusic Device Memory Limits?

Does anyone know what the maximum memory limit of the DLSMusicDevice is? In other words, how large can a SF2 or DLS bank be before the DLSMusicDevice refuses to load it?

Also, where can I find error messages related to the DLSMusicDevice. I'm seeing errors like -1409.
