Agreed, on a DSP level. But what the product Andrew referred to
actually does is time stretching, not pitch shifting. IOW, there is no
option to change the pitch, it only has slowdown and speedup
capabilities.

Actually, you change the pitch by pitch shifting (not time stretching)
and then adjust the playback speed by sample rate conversion to
achieve time stretching.
