I have a problem that might or might not be related to CoreAudio. I
hope to get some input here before I have to dive into the code too
deeply myself:
When I play any sound on a PowerPC based Mac, the Mac's time and the
time the audio engine report do slowly drift apart. About one ms per
second.
Doesn't happen on Intel Macs. And the OS X version doesn't matter
either (tried on 10.4.11 and 10.5.6). Happens on a G5 DP 2.5 as well
as a G4 (QuickSilver).
Now to the tricky part:
I am using the PortAudio lib for this (http://www.portaudio.com/)
Maybe it's a bug in that lib, maybe something more general related to PPC Macs.
Has anyone else ever seen such an effect, either with PortAudio or without?
Or has someone used PortAudio on PPC without seeing such a problem?
