afconvert will do this, and it will do it for FLAC if you install the
FLAC pieces
We have posted on the FLAC website both a FLAC codec pair (audio codec
or encode and audio codec for decode), and a FLAC file component (to
read and write FLAC files)
If you build and install both of these pieces, then all of the core
audio tools will work with FLAC content
