Why not just document this clearly rather than claiming that I
asserted something that I did not?
There are two references to threading in the TN on "Handling Audio
Unit Events". Both of them make it sound as if cross-thread
notification is optional, but probably a good idea. Does that means
that most plugins use AUEventListener? I'm not trying to be snarky.
I've watched the evolution of AU and CA for years and often praise it
all effusively in public, both online and at conferences. But I've got
roughly 10:1 ratio on my box between plugins have and have not
followed recommended practice for view updates following parameter
changes; and I feel as if its natural to wonder how many plugins are
following what you've advocated on this matter too.
If they all use AUEventListener, then great ... essentially no work by
the host or plugin to make this work right, which is really nice
design.
