Core Audio thread priority on the iPhone

Sometimes when i push a new view onto the UIViewController, i will get a glitch in my audio, especially if i am doing a big image load etc in the new view. The glitch is not that bad, it sounds like a little sample shuffle. as i am making beats, sometimes it sounds cool. but it is still an issue. It also seems like the timing is unaffected, (i havent tested this with a good tool) but if i tap my feet the beats seem to stay in time, they just get a little glitchy. My audio data is being held in memory. i am not streaming from disk.

I have done some things that help alleviate the problem (increased the latency, optimized my fill buffer callback).

this happens on the itouch more frequently than the 3gs (its faster).

Is there anyway to give core audio higher priority than the ui? Or any other suggestions will be greatfully received

thanks

aran
