Synchronizing AudioQueue with Video

  • Subject: Synchronizing AudioQueue with Video

Hello list,

the AudioQueue docs say "Audio Queue Services also supports [...] synchronization of audio with video". This sentence is actually very general, so I am just wondering, what exactly they mean by that. Are there any examples or docs on how to do just that?

I am getting from this that there is some way of glueing video playback to the AudioQueue-timeline, because otherwise I can't see how Audio Queue "supports" audio-video-synchronization. I actually want to play a video file in sync with an audio file, meaning both files are of equal length (time-wise) and whenever the audio file starts playing (i am actually looping the audio playback) the video should start playing too.

I'd appreciate *any* pointers, as I cannot seem to find any doc or help on this matter. Is there another mailing-list better suited for my questions?

Regards,
Michael

PS: Excuse me if I am being a little unclear, I am still trying to figure out how to go about this in the (technologically) most elegant way...
