Yes. Your Carbon view can be in any bundle/component. It's merely a convenience to have everything in one component, but in your case there's a clear advantage to separating them. I believe there are even some AU samples which put the UI component inside the audio engine component, for simple drag-to-install support, but that can sometimes get tricky.
