Hi,
has anyone tried using the new
kAudioSessionProperty_OverrideCategoryEnableBluetoothInput property?
It seems to behave quite differently than the documentation says.
When I set it in my application after I made a call with the builtin
GSM phone app using the bluetooth, it switches both input (from the
headset microphone) and output to the bluetooth headset, while the
documentation says: "Use of this property doesn’t affect the audio
output route for the kAudioSessionCategory_PlayAndRecord category".
This is actually good, I don't see what good would it be to have an
input in the headset and output from the builtin speaker?
When I set this property after I make a GSM call using the iPhone
receiver, nothing happens at all. This is much worse. The bluetooth
headset remains silent and it's microphone doesn't work either. Still,
the AudioSessionSetProperty call returns 0 (no error)!!
My questions:
1) Is there a way to reliably switch the audio over to the bluetooth headset?
2) Is there a way to find out if there is any bluetooth headset
connected at all?
