Thanks all, good info.

I just ran DefaultOutputUnit in the debugger and got an objc_sendMsg
EXC_BAD_ACCESS error.  When I put a breakpoint at main, I don't get
the error.  I have a feeling it has something to do with the USBAudio
driver I'm using.

I need to plow ahead and will not look a gift horse in the mouth.
Will probably have to revisit this at some point.
