Correct Key for MIDI Source

  • Subject: Correct Key for MIDI Source

When using GetSource( ... ) the type returned is a MIDIEndpointRef.  Lets say I've store one of thes in myStoredMIDIEndpointReg. In regards to system change notifications, what is the correct key to use as storage?

For example let's say I'm using one of the sources supplied by my external MOTU box... and for giggles ( aka real world testing )... I unplug the box from my laptop... this will generate some MIDIObjectAddRemoveNotification messages one of which will represent the source under question.

So... my question then.. When the message does represent the source underquestion.... will the MIDIObjectRef  message.child == myStoredMIDIEndpointRef or do I need to use properties to navigate equivalance?
