This might be a known issue in Snow Leopard. It would be very helpful
if you could file a radar report and we can have this looked into

OK - I've convinced myself that the folder *should* be there. I
recreated the folder with bogus permissions, then repaired them with
Disk Utility.
1. Immediately after running the AU installer, I ran auval and got a
-50 as the component could not be found.
2. Logging out and logging in again changed nothing, still got -50
with auvual.
3. After a reboot the component was correctly detected and validated.
Anyone else getting this?
