Polls at Mac OS X Audio show 49% of users still perform music
production on PowerPC, which isn't supported by Snow Leopard, and 24%
are still on Panther or Tiger. There is no poll which tracks the
combination of PPC/i386 and OSX version.
Admittedly, these are tiny polls, in terms of the number surveyed,
but it seems like they would be statistically indicative of the music
production industry within some margin of error.

I can say for a fact that Logic 8 does not require 10.5
I believe we're still a long way from having everyone in the music
industry buy new computer hardware, buy a new operating system, and
buy the latest upgrades to all of their software. Support for 10.4
seems to be a requirement still.
