Let me also add that I get this error (-12986) when calling AudioSessionSetActive(YES), after I've initialized the session and set the category. I've not done any other audio calls other than those mentioned up to this point in the startup of the app.

This is breaking all of our audio apps for the iPod Touch in OS 3.1.1. Again, the iPhone is just fine.

I'm withholding a very big rant (this isn't the place for it), but this is a pretty serious situation. Can anyone at Apple help out or point us in the right direction quickly?
