it will kill the use of Macs for research stone dead (including all
those supercomputer clusters, particle accelerators, etc). The Mac is
widely used as a flavour of unix running gcc etc (I use it that way
myself and there are loads of Macs in Bath Uni's computer science dept).
It is hard to believe Apple would so readily lose that considerable
global market, and leave it entirely to Linux running on PC boxes.
