CAF files

Hi Folks,

Is there a standard value defined for the Mac OS Finder File Type for a CAF File?

Is this documented anywhere?

I looked through the docs at

  http://developer.apple.com/mac/library/documentation/MusicAudio/Reference/CAFSpec/CAF_intro/CAF_intro.html

and I did not see anything specified.

We have been using 'CAFF', but it has been suggested to me that we should be using 'caff'.

Should apps be using the Finder File Type to determine if a file is a CAF file, or should they accept any caf file that has the proper header and is properly formed?

TIA,

B.J. Buchalter
