[BUMP] gcd/asynchronous task and Core Audio

I am currently playing around in 4.2iOS land and had a few questions to ask in reference to gcd and core audio. Are there any rules we core audio dev's should be aware of? for example, can i put my AUGraphStart code in an async task? can we use gcd at all in critical code? i ask only because sometimes techniques can work only to find out later that they are bad practice, have edge case scenario's that will crash/fault/distort the app.
cheers
