I noticed CARingBuffer.cpp was patched to work on 10.6 but the latest version of Xocde installs the old version in the "PublicUtilities" folder so I had to re-download the latest version to fix the crashing problem.
It's disappointing to hear this sample code is unreliable since the whole point of sample code is to help 3rd party developers adopt the corresponding technology. I'm hoping Apple will fix their sample code, or suggest an alternative so the many developers (like me) who use this don't need to re-write it.
