yes, I just sent out a clarification to this. The adaptor from Griffin
will only work with those macs that have some audio over the DP link.
This is only the most recent iMacs.

You've confirmed this on the iMac or on the MBP? Griffin's site refers
specifically to the MacBook Pro. I'm guessing it just hasn't been
updated since the launch of the new iMacs.
