Thanks for the suggestion. We have tried that as well and it indeed
works. But the issue is that the plugins are then listed twice in all
other applications such as Logic, Mainstage etc. It's not really
user-friendly because it's unclear why you get these two versions and
there is no way for the user to "remove" these duplicates. Even if
they are named differently it is very disturbing, especially if you
have many plug-ins.

kAudioUnitType_MusicDevice and kAudioUnitType_MusicEffect which from what I
can guess was done to get the same plugin to appear in both the synth and

case yet.
